Terms and conditions of therapy

Initial contact

After receiving an enquiry, a member of our team will offer a free 10-15 minute first contact where we will explore what you are looking for and whether we are a good fit for you.

If you want to proceed we will arrange an assessment slot. We will also send our our client information form and therapy agreement - we request that these are completed and returned prior to the assessment.

Assessment Appointment

Prior to commencing therapy, all clients will be offered a joint multidisciplinary assessment conducted by both therapists. The purpose of this assessment is to ensure a comprehensive understanding of your needs and to facilitate collaborative working within our practice.

Following the assessment, clients will be allocated to the therapist with the next available appointment. Ongoing treatment may be provided by one therapist; however, care will continue to be informed by shared professional knowledge and collaborative multidisciplinary consultation where appropriate.

Frequency and cancellations

Sessions will be weekly and are 50-60 minutes long.

In some circumstances we may consider longer sessions. If so, fees will be adjusted accordingly in line with our hourly rate.

Cancellations that occur within 48 hours of the planned appointment time will be charged at the full rate.

You will not be charged if we cancel sessions.

Fees

£95 per 50-60 minute session (hourly rate)

For Assessment:

We only accept payment by bank transfer. Payment must be made within 24 hours of assessment slot being offered to secure your slot. If payment is not received within this time the slot is not secured and may go to someone.

For Treatment:

We only accept payment by bank transfer, made 24 hours prior to the appointment.

If payment is not received 24 hours in advance of the session then the session will not go ahead and therapy will be suspended until payment is made and the slot may be given to someone else.

Confidentiality

What you talk about in the session is treated as private and confidential.  There are three exceptions:

  • If there is a risk of harm to yourself or another, it may be necessary to contact another person, for adults it may be a professional contact like your GP and for children and young people this would be a parent/carer. In most circumstances we will consult you before doing this.

  • If a child is at risk.

  • As part of good professional practice, we will take some of the material from your session to supervision. Your confidentiality is respected.

All other information about data and privacy is contained in the GDPR signed statement which you will receive separately to sign.

Crisis support

Communication outside of the session will occur around practical arrangements for session only.

Therapy is not an emergency service.  If any emergency intervention is ever needed this has to be accessed by yourself outside of the session via your GP, your local emergency mental health team or The Samaritans.
