Terms and conditions of post-diagnostic support
Initial contact
After receiving an enquiry, a member of our team will arrange a mutually convenient first appointment time.
If you are known to our service, no prior paperwork will be necessary. If you are new to our service, we will send you our client information form and post-diagnostic support form - we request these are completed and returned to us before our first session.
Frequency and cancellations
Sessions will be adhoc, based on your needs and desires, and are 50-60 minutes long. That is, you can have one standalone session for advice or you may opt to have a longer block of support.
In some circumstances we may consider longer sessions. If so, fees will be adjusted accordingly in line with our hourly rate.
Cancellations that occur within 48 hours of the planned appointment time will be charged at the full rate.
You will not be charged if we cancel sessions.

Fees
£100 per 50-60 minute session (hourly rate).
We only accept payment by bank transfer, made prior to the appointment.
If payment is not received in advance of the session then the session will not go ahead and support will be suspended until payment is made.

Confidentiality
What you talk about in the session is treated as private and confidential. There are three exceptions:
-
If there is a risk of harm to yourself or another, it may be necessary to contact another person, for adults it may be a professional contact like your GP and for children and young people this would be a parent/carer. In most circumstances we will consult you before doing this.
-
If a child is at risk.
-
As part of good professional practice, we will take some of the material from your session to supervision. Your confidentiality is respected.
All other information about data and privacy is contained in the GDPR signed statement which you will receive separately to sign.
Crisis support
Communication outside of the session will occur around practical arrangements for session only.
Therapy is not an emergency service. If any emergency intervention is ever needed this has to be accessed by yourself outside of the session via your GP, your local emergency mental health team or The Samaritans.
