Terms and conditions of ASD assessment

Stage 1 (Initial screening)

After receiving an enquiry, a member of our team will get in touch to book in the initial screening appointment.

We will agree a timeslot and send you our client information form, assessment agreement form, and autism screening questionnaire - we request these are completed and returned to us before our first session.

The initial screening appointment (stage 1 of assessment process) costs £300

Stages 2-7

If a full assessment is indicated, then at the end of the stage 1 appointment we will seek your preference as to whether you wish to continue. If yes, we will ask your preference as to online or face-to-face for the relevant stages of the assessment, and diarise all of the assessment dates. These dates will be agreed collaboratively with you. We will also give greater detail as to the requirements of each assessment stage.

Fees and cancellations

We only accept payment by bank transfer.

We ask that the initial screening fee (£300) is paid in advance of the agreed appointment. If you continue with the full assessment we ask for the remaining fee (£1700) to be paid. We will not gather information from informants (stage 2 of the assessment process) until this has been received.

If payment is not received in advance of the session then the session will not go ahead and the assessment will be suspended until payment is made.

If an appointment is missed or cancelled within 48 hours of the planned time then you will be charged a £200 fee. This will need to be paid before a further appointment will be booked in.

You will not be charged if we cancel sessions.

Confidentiality

What you talk about in the session is treated as private and confidential.  There are three exceptions:

  • If there is a risk of harm to yourself or another, it may be necessary to contact another person, for adults it may be a professional contact like your GP and for children and young people this would be a parent/carer. In most circumstances we will consult you before doing this.

  • If a child is at risk.

  • As part of good professional practice, we will take some of the material from your session to supervision. Your confidentiality is respected.

All other information about data and privacy is contained in the GDPR signed statement which you will receive separately to sign.

Crisis support

Communication outside of the session will occur around practical arrangements for session only.

Therapy is not an emergency service.  If any emergency intervention is ever needed this has to be accessed by yourself outside of the session via your GP, your local emergency mental health team or The Samaritans.
